A little bit about me. My name is Amanda and I am a self-proclaimed DIY junkie. I always have at least half a dozen designs in varying stages of completion and finding that perfect piece at a yard sale or flea market feels like Christmas. I take inspiration from my mother, who was/is a DIY maven designing clothes and home decor decades before Pinterest made it cool.
I live with my wonderful husband (who humors me when I start another ambitious project) and I am a SAHM to two babies. My. Life. Is. Crazy. I jumped with both feet into the DIY world with absolutely no experience. My goal has always been to use beautiful design in a functional way to make daily life easier.
I love a good book, pumpkin spice lattes and anything plaid. I want my home to feel comfortable. My style is very much a modern take on a traditional farmhouse. As busy as I am I value simplicity. We bought our home for the land and the big front porch we could see ourselves rocking on in 50 years. I love getting my hands dirty and looking back on a project with a sense of accomplishment. I love old trees and walking in nature.
I try and maintain my sense of wonder. It can get lost in the hustle and bustle of daily life but my kids help me see the world with fresh eyes. I love Jesus. When I feel lost in a tornado of daily activity, my faith keeps me grounded.
Whether the result is a shining success or a spectacular failure, I invite you to follow along for some inspiration to make your own version of Farmhouse Love.
